Baxter Healthcare Corporation has voluntarily recalled lots of heparin sodium injections after testing turned up possible irregularities in lots where the active ingredients came from a supplier in China. The blood thinner has been implicated in at least four deaths and hundreds of life threatening adverse reactions. A number of the tainted heparin batches were distributed by dialysis suppliers such as Fresenius Medical Care.
Severe and life threatening injuries including deaths have been linked to use of contaminated heparin in patients. Heparin products are commonly used in dialysis, cardiovascular surgery and specialized treatments such as photopheresis and plasmapheresis involving blood removal. Heparin may also be used with patients who have blood clots in arteries, veins or in the lungs. Affected patients may not realize that they have received contaminated heparin.
If you or a loved one has suffered severe or life threatening reactions after use of heparin injections, then you may be entitled to monetary compensation for your injuries and damages. If you would like to have an attorney contact you for a free confidential consultation, please
