The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) announced that they are conducting more than 50 criminal and grand jury investigations of bank fraud former executives, directors, and employees at U.S. banks that have failed since the start of the financial crisis. This effort appears to be patterned after the former criminal investigation that followed in the wake of the savings and loan crisis a generation ago.
